This just in; the Cayman Airport Authority as proposed is building a 4 level parking garage at the Grand Cayman airport. Some of the land saved will be used to build the new central police department with 50 independent separate room sleeping quarters; with a small detention centre on the ground floor; not in the airport. There will be a small gym and shower area in the police facility. Passport services will be maintained in that building also. There will also be a 20 room, 2 floor hostel( 8 beds per room) with 3 floors of standard hotel rooms in the facility sharing the same lobby and kitchen. A daily included breakfast only buffet is available. The existing building will recieve a new floor and wall tile fascia worthy of the 21st century, befitting Pimlico and Kings Cross Tube station near Pentonville Prison in the UK. A similar extension with police department is being built at the Grand Bahamas, Norman Manley Airport and Montego Bay Airport in Jamaica.
