A sequel to the Higgler called the Train Driver. By Warren Lyon. Londinium Media(TM). Ms. Dollis Hill was a train driver in Montego Bay when it was a part of the UK; almost like Penzance but further, further south. She had a son and a husband who supported her as a woman who worked. The family used the money to help build the local parish and also to help them manufacture clothing and shoes for people. They also baked bread. She said very often, "...you have a son for life, a son for life even after he takes a wife and he might live down the road or next door." She got her freedom when the master owner of the home she lived and worked in from an early age killed a girl for taking a spoon that she had already dropped in the sink and then taking the spoon back out of the sink to stir the soup. He got a fever since all kinds of people used the sink. He granted them his favour when he was sad that he killed the girl and told his mistress to make copies of her and to put nice words like Joy in the cup with the master baker's DNA and that of the chief sweeper in the house. He also said he needed to feel equal and killing the girl made her feel too, too martyred and honoured. But, he did not know what to do with his feelings that day. But, sometimes when she got home from work after driving the train through all the small towns in Jamaica, she was a little drunk when sometimes she was given a bottle of rum from the train station managers to keep her cool when she was begged by the station manager to "...wait a few minutes nuh; a beg you....because the local horse drawn wagon of farm workers was late when the road was washed out and they have to get back to Spanish Town for the cooked food...tonight...ya andahstand....then you wheel and turn back to the depot...in the partnership.....the agreement." Before she was a train driver, she worked as a domestic worker and had hit her employer's son on the foot with a hammer and broke it when he was a baby and unable to speak. She said the boy fell. They did not believe her and cut off one finger but said she will live but can't work with people again in such close quarters. She would come home and carry on with her new found involvement and when the children had not finished their school work or if the sink had one spoon in it or if the dog had not been fed yet, she would just rip up the place and make noise. She was double tongued; thanking God when the rain falls but also tearing up people with unnecessary, hurtful, violent words and you don't want that in your sanctuary since it's murder and we are to thank God when he forgives but the boy is dead. Your daughter stole his job offers after graduation and you kept killing him about a job but you have him up until 2 am every night, helping you with something and you were never honest about why he does not have a job. You are all in the problems now. What did you intend? So, they elders cut out her tongue but she could still play music and drive the train, smile and take photos to the glory of God. She was eventually sent to Ghana during the war with others who suffered this repentance. If you coughed or cleared your throat, she said you have a nervous tick....just busy in her own way. How does she have time to think about how you clear your throat because when the train manager comes to how we are getting on, ...you should feel like you are down since this is not about you...but see me. The boy was raised by her but who was the mother and father? The train manager spit in the water cooler so we would... "Tell him and help him if the last woman he was with gave him "something" and he knows he shouldn't put himself in the water." He said he was the victim when the lady at the bakery heard him say he likes the Grata cakes so when he came back, he ordered 12 cakes and then she put her own "Maco shark" from her underwear on it with some Fabergé to get all of his attention and he was burning up. She had an iron burn on her back. Birz even an angry, hurt ex-slave that might kill evilly their siblings or neighbours to be the only one in the shanty hut can still seek and find the Lord. They will thank him too for their fish when they catch one and it really was a miracle. That was just not right; what she did! He was in shock. The tongue can be a raging fire but it can also speak life. Regardless of the language we speak whether it be Twee or Nigerian, it should manifest eventually work in cooperation and manifest in a building or buildings or business or businesses. Ms. Dollis Hill worked hard in school and as a player the piano quite capably from birth. But, she did not like to teach anyone how to play. She was given a marital arrangement with a young man who wanted to practice medicine but kept saying his conversations were dull and boring so he decided to just call it quits because he felt demeaned. But because they had already drank juice and coffee in public, there was a covenant. They had kissed, so he took the cups of drink and made people out of this water; children as a sign and symbol unto their brief covenant. She was not rejected but celebrated and loved for their brief time in spite of their differing approaches in the honouring of one another or the evident rebuttal of this hallowed duty. He had a few others like this. But, eventually he found some one who was not soo selfishly one sided with respect to that honour that must be mutual. But he got charged for administering a noxious substance by the British Constabulary; some of them Black men from the Bahamas. So, when she had a son it seems that the train manager could be the father because he put his spit in the water. She would also take all the energy she could to express and say they have to "see me", using her words like claws on the boy if there was any work party or business meeting where he would say the boy should attend and learn something. Did you know the word "Higgler" comes from the Irish word and culture for Hagler? Eventually one night when one of her sister's boys, Mathias, was turning 17 he had just finished eating the curry goat that she cooked and noticed that she had spit because someone gave her an open bottle of white rum and it made her a little old. It had a zing in it when, whoever gave it to her, ate free range chicken every day from his own farm. The chickens ate rat dung or mongoose dung as they scratched around the yard and so it gave the station manager a disease. He drank his rum directly from the bottle and then gave the bottle to people so he was not alone with his disease. She should not have drank it since it was open and she should not have spit in the goat meat because now the boy got a disease. The woman next door said her daughter just wrongly accused one of her son's and so the Jumby man came by to shoot him. The daughter did this three times to see all her siblings dead just to be the only one, hoping to inherit. Mathias also started teaching Youth Group and was instructed by the Accompong elders to ask for his daily bread that today anywhere in the world is about $ USD 240.00 per day and that works out to $87512.40 over a year; 365 days. Isn't a Junior Pastor worth $240 per day or at least $ USD 192.00 per day every day and what is that over 12 months? One of the church parishioners named Hope Gardens said, "...call your father first and then we will make our donation for your good work." Mathias nodded and left. He actually got his donation but Hope did not see when it was handed to him. But she felt resistant like she wanted to "hold" him, resisi him. The following week, Hope Gardens showed up and she had no ears since she wouldn't hear. She said it was the white mongoose ate them. Mathias was shocked to see her ears. He was sure God was with him. She changed her name to Trip. But, what do we do with people who rob Accompong or let those in who rob Accompong? She brought the remnants of her ears to the pastor and he put it in his collection box that had three words on it; "No Good Jamaica/ Never Open
