Thank God. The father never did.

A woman received a Mother of the year Award. The father and mother were divorced and there is no one in the world that doubted the father's contribution but they don't seem to have Father of the year awards.  So, when his son was a way at school, he worked.  When in need of a confirmation of family address, the mother provided it.  The father never did.  He would throw it out. When a police job arrived when the kid was 16 years old, he threw it out.  When the son needed $5.00 for the fare to attend his new job at the big firm to start earning the big salary, the father never provided it. He said he had no money.  When the son completed his piano exam with a Distinction, the father stole the Distinction document and only hoped the son would never play the piano again but he still does. He also hoped, he would never teach it but he would drive his son to piano lessons.  His son taught rudimentary piano more than once but was not interested in making it a profession just yet. But, maybe he might teach it some day. The wife paid for it.  In his final breath, the father said he was a demon but at least he let go of hoping for an award. He denied his role as father at the critical moment.

Now, who is the father of the century. God knows the answer.  Thank God that the father let go of any notion of receiving an award.
