The DPM of Jamaica is now proposing a new Jamaica Disability programme called the Get Up Stand Up program.
The program funds disabled persons with a benefit card of USD $50.00 per day plus taxes for daily spending on personal needs. This is in addition to the PJ Daily Bread benefit to be paid into every TRN citizen's bank account at $ USD 71.42 per day as of April 1st 2026.
These disabled persons will also receive a JPS transit driver in an equipped van or transport to carry them to any requested destinations for attendance at Doctor's, to the supermarket, to church and to visit any friends or family. They may also get transport once a month to a North Coast destination such as the RIU Ocho Rios if requested by the person ; within the program. They will book the daily buffet and pay on their expense card. If they attend a hotel in Kingston, they will pay on their expense card. Then they will return to their renovated home that has brand new appliances paid for the by the government, TV and lots of nice food in the fridge.
If the disability is work related whether or not there are allegations against the benefit recipient, then their benefits card will provide an additional $USD 50.00 per day plus the additional taxes. So they are receiving $ USD 65.00 per day when the sales tax is 15%. The allotment will cover the purchase essentially with the additional taxes.
They will also receive a home paid for by the government; such as a unit at Casa Monte in need for renovation or something similar for example or it may be an independent fully detached home that is already in need of renovation. They may receive renovations paid for at their current home and these renovations will include New media equipment for the disabled; new TV and blue tooth speakers that provide blue tooth speaker phone support with Voice Activated call answer.
This programme is to be initiated immediately.
