Frodo, Oprah, Orphan... Hopper, there is a man who decided that as an orphan, he would help orphans but eventually he met an orphan that he thought was a curiosity. He showed him acceptance and love but then when he was older, he decided to obsessively think wrongly about the kid all day hoping to see the boy in the same experience the old man endured as a child but the boy was not his and had no right to hope to reverse the tutelage of the English speaking part Puritan and Part Native people as made available to all newcomers in Pennsylvania and Tonawanda .  It was the fact that the boy was actually told to work hard or else he would be beaten and to be good to the teacher and in doing so, he did not want to fight the power or the teacher to cheat against it. The man was Haitian and resented the English. You would not know since he spoke no other language but English. This is the man's testimony. He raised his children to cheat and hedge against the English in some overt and covert  way; possibly to use someone else's work as their own.  This is unusual.
