So, people in the Eastern Caribbean and certain other islands were told in school to ensure as children and adults that they are the most favored by the Queen of France from the age of four years old.  This generates a great deal of competition among the school children and also the adults until they realize the notion was essentially to prevent cohesion and cooperation in addition to the notion being fallacious. The irony is that the notion was not preclude cooperation with family to achieve the favor of the imaginary Queen since it is always best to work with those closest to you with whom you eat. It is simply because there is no Queen of France.   But,  how do the people of France behave in treating friends and family?  They may have told you to think of impressing and seeking the favor of the French Queen but the manner in which you express and interpret this direction confirms who you are and what is your understanding of culture, faith, self concept and humanity or the lack thereof. If you are French or if you are human, how will you interpret it?  You must not know that they smile in your face...but after you hurt your father and mother seeking false favor or your sister, what do you think they will really say about you behind their smile? Maybe there are fewer black families after you interpret it your way or maybe there will be more prosperous families and communities.
